AN ODE TO SIN

I see you, although you think I don’t.

I caught your violence in the corner of my eye.

I’ve got you this time—peripherally noticed.

You won’t elude the capture—so why try?

 *

Vision.

You’re not in focus but I’ve readied myself for you.

Derision.

I thought you to be nightmare—you’re nothing.

Incision.

Brace yourself for mayhem—I’m cutting you away.

 *

Today!

I’ve centered my occupation on your destruction.

You’ve stolen sacred years

And now that the tears have left stains on my fears…

              Prepare for annihilation.

 *

This day has finally come,

And I’ve wondered what I’d say.

“You’re no longer in control of the controls of my life!”

Nah, too suttle.

What’s the matter—Got no rebuttal?

 *

I’ve given you over to a liquid death.

My cries have dried away.

So take all your weapons—

Your doubts, fears and insecurities will no longer

Have me doubled over on my knees pleading for mercy.

But then again you have none.

 *

Breaking news.

You’ve lost the battle…I’ve won.

So bend over and kiss your…

  *

New master’s signet ring.

 *

I’ve polished my bling just for you.
